This pie crust was so easy and so delicious! I will never buy store bought again!
It is so flaky and buttery and yummy!
This recipe comes from Smitten Kitchen - a wonderful food blog. Check it out! They have some very nice pictures as well.
Ingredients:
2 sticks of cold butter, unsalted
2 1/2 cups flour
1 cup cold water (maybe 3/4 cup)
1 TBS of sugar
1 tsp salt
Directions:
1) Fill up a measuring cup with water and drop an ice cube in it so it stays cold
2) In a large bowl, add the flour, sugar and salt and mix well.
3) Dice up 2 sticks of butter into cubes and then add to the flour.
4) With a pastry blender, start working the butter into the flour until the butter is the size of peas.
5) Add the water - start with a 1/2 cup and start working it into the dough with a spatula. Then add the water 1 TBs at a time until the dough comes together.
6) Split the dough in half and wrap in plastic wrap. Let it chill in the fridge 1-2 hours before rolling.
Enjoy!
